Idiom Day is a daily puzzle of Korean four-character idioms (sajaseongeo, 사자성어).
Everyone gets the same puzzle each day. Fill in the one missing character and a learning card opens with the idiom's meaning, the reading of each hanja character, its origin and an example sentence. Instead of cramming dozens of questions and forgetting them, you keep one idiom a day.
Features
• One puzzle a day
A new puzzle opens at midnight Korea time, and everyone solves the same one.
• Fill in the blank, with a hint
Type the missing character. Stuck? Reveal the initial-consonant hint. You have three tries.
• A learning card, right or wrong
Whether you get it or not, the card opens: meaning, hanja readings with English glosses, origin and an example sentence on one page.
• Spaced review
Idioms you have seen come back after 1, 3 and 7 days. Replay any past puzzle from your archive.
• Streaks and stats
Current and best streak, accuracy, tries distribution and a 12-week activity grid.
• Spoiler-free sharing
Share the blanked puzzle, its meaning and your result. The answer is included only if you turn it on.
• Daily reminder
Get reminded at the time you choose. Turn it on or off in Settings.
In English, every learning card shows the meaning, an English gloss for each hanja character, the origin and an example sentence with its translation, plus the romanized reading. You type the missing character in Hangul — or tap "I don't know" to open the card. Every idiom is checked against the Standard Korean Language Dictionary. About three years of puzzles, no account needed.
